Press release announcing IMG's pursuit of ISO 14001:2004 certification
(INDIANAPOLIS, IN – FEBRUARY 17, 2009) – International Medical Group®, Inc. (IMG®), a worldwide leader in designing, distributing and administering global health care benefits, is dedicating more time and resources into helping the environment. Working with Cornerstone Environmental, Health and Safety, Inc., IMG is seeking to become ISO 14001:2004 certified. The ISO 14001 family of standards are internationally recognized as a means to certify an organization’s ability to implement an effective Environmental Management System (EMS). The standard is designed to aid organizations in reducing their environmental impact by ensuring proper policies and objectives are in place.
With the assistance of Cornerstone, IMG will implement the necessary requirements of the ISO 14001:2004 standard. The process is expected to take between four to six months.
"Not only are we committed to providing the highest quality products and service to our clients, we also strive to achieve the highest corporate standards," said Joseph Brougher, President of IMG. "This program is a step in the right direction and it will be a significant accomplishment. We will be ensuring our company’s actions and services have minimal impact on the environment, and will be providing a cleaner, safer, and healthier work environment for our employees."
Brian Barwick, IMG’s Executive Vice President added, "As a global company working with local, U.S. and international communities, it’s important that we do what we can to reduce our environmental impact and achieve the highest international standard of service delivery. IMG is continuously improving the efficiency and quality of its operations, and we are exploring every avenue to reduce the impact our business has on the environment."
Mark Miller, President of Cornerstone further added, "We believe IMG is raising the bar for its competitors and other companies outside the manufacturing marketplace to improve its operational efficiency and reduce its environmental impact."
