Trip Claims

Trip Claims are claims associated with your trip protection plan(s) which involves trip cancellations, interruptions, and delays—and claims for medical expenses related to an accident or sickness.

If your policy number starts with “TC,” you will need to file a trip claim.

Trip protection plans include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • iTravelInsured Choice, Choice Cruise, Choice Departure
  • iTravelInsured Travel Lite, SE, LX
  • Join IMG

How to File a Trip Claim - The fastest and most convenient way to submit a trip claim is through our online customer portal, MyIMG.

For all claims you must provide:

    1. A trip invoice, itinerary, or confirmation showing details of your trip (dates of travel, destination, etc.)
    2. Any other information reasonably required to prove the loss

Please read all insurance plan documents provided at the time of enrollment to fully understand your coverage.

Contact us as soon as possible. If you intend to file a claim for any losses that incurred, you must first contact IMG as soon as is reasonably possible, within 30 days maximum from the original date of the loss. You or someone on your behalf may provide this notice and should include sufficient information to verify your identity. A simple call to our team or email to itravelclaims@imglobal.com will suffice to comply with this requirement.

File your claim within 90 days. After your initial loss has been reported, you will then have up to 90 days of one occurring to submit your actual claim. The MyIMG portal will guide you through the claims process, directing you to provide necessary documentation to have your claim settled as quickly as possible.

If you have an accident or get sick while on your trip, call our team to verify your coverage and help you choose a provider. This allows IMG to work directly with the provider for billing, so you don’t have to pay out of pocket. If you seek treatment before speaking with IMG’s customer service team, you will need to pay the provider yourself and then file a claim to be reimbursed for your expenses. Prior to seeking medical treatment, please read all insurance plan documents provided at the time of enrollment to fully understand your coverage.

    Quick Tips for Quick Claims:

    1. File your claim within 90 days and include all necessary information such as your trip itinerary, invoices, confirmation emails, and more.
    2. Total all claimed expenses, including any refunds or credits you have or may be receiving.
    3. Gather documents from your travel supplier(s) outlining reasons and time frames for cancellation or delay of services.
    4. Include your banking information when submitting your claim. If you do not submit any banking information, or supply incorrect information, resolving your claim will take longer.

Issues That Could Delay Settling Your Claim:

    1. Not providing all the proper documents and information right away.
    2. Not including all invoices, confirmation emails, receipts, and other items needed to file a claim.
    3. Not providing translations for items not in English. Even though we can process claims in other languages, items requiring translation to English can take longer to complete.
    4. Not providing an email address where you can be contacted. Resolution by email is much faster than regular mail.
    5. Not providing additional information when requested. If you receive an email stating your claim is pending and additional information is required, promptly log in to MyIMG to provide the necessary documentation to process your claim.
