IMG Receives ISO 14001:2004 Certification
“We have dedicated a significant amount of time and resources into ensuring our company’s actions and services have minimal impact on the environment,” said Joseph Brougher, President of IMG. “By committing to continually improve our Environmental Management System, prevent pollution and comply with requirements, we are moving in the right direction toward preserving the environment and providing cleaner, safer and healthier surroundings for our employees. This is a tremendous achievement and we are pleased to be recognized for our commitment.”
This commitment has also extended to IMG’s product portfolio with the development of the short-term travel plan, Patriot Green Travel Medical InsuranceSM. Eager to meet and exceed the needs of individuals and groups in all segments of the market, IMG created an international travel medical plan that addresses the goals of travelers who are serious about sustainable and responsible tourism. The unique plan is one of many in IMG’s vast portfolio and offers several eco-friendly benefits.
“We have a responsibility to our clients to provide them with an assortment of products backed by the highest international standard of service, and a commitment to be aware of our environment,” said Brian Barwick, IMG’s Executive Vice President. “This certification is an excellent model to guide us in achieving those goals and sets a higher standard for the international insurance industry. I take considerable pride in our team and all the effort they put forth in achieving this.”
With the assistance of Cornerstone Environmental, Health and Safety, Inc., IMG implemented a functional EMS and met requirements of the ISO 14001:2004 standard. American National Registrar, an independent auditor, verified the implementation noting the EMS was well-developed and communicated policies and objectives, and had an excellent example of management support with allocation of necessary resources.
The ISO 14001 family of standards is internationally recognized as a means to certify an organization’s ability to implement an effective EMS. The standard is designed to aid organizations in reducing their environmental impact by ensuring proper policies and objectives are in place.
