Race to Donate: IMG and nearby businesses team up for race-themed blood drive
INDIANAPOLIS (May 3, 2022) – International Medical Group® (IMG®) teamed up with several neighboring businesses Tuesday to hold a blood drive with Versiti Blood Center of Indiana. Employees from the participating companies donated blood to help address the significant blood shortage that is occurring across the country.
As more businesses are transitioning to a remote workforce, company blood drives have been occurring less frequently. By combining efforts with nearby businesses, IMG hopes to provide some much-needed relief to the current shortage.
In honor of the month of May, the blood drive had an Indianapolis 500 theme with a “friendly” competition among the participating companies. A racetrack at the event displayed the names of each company, and individuals who donated were given a racecar to add to the track for their company to see who could cross the finish line first.
Participating businesses included IMG, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, Teach for America-Indianapolis, United Way of Central Indiana, Delta Sigma Phi, Keller & Keller, InfoZone, MDwise, Levy Restaurants, and Brougher Plaza LLC.
