Contact UsOn Tuesday, May 26, LATAM Airlines Group announced the cancellation of all flights due to bankruptcy. The aviation authority launched a website where customers can find details on all affected flights. With several travelers concerned about their upcoming plans to travel, due to the LATAM Airlines Group declaration of bankruptcy, IMG would like to provide some clarifications pertaining to members with existing iTravelInsured plans as your plan may provide coverage for some benefits if affected by this event.
Per the policy wording, trip cancellation or trip interruption coverage may be triggered under the covered reason of bankruptcy or default of an airline, cruise line, tour operator, or other travel provider, as long as: (i) you did not purchase your travel directly from the bankrupt airline, cruise line, tour operator or other travel provider; and (ii) no alternative transportation is available. . If alternate transportation is available, benefits will be limited to the change fee charged to allow you to transfer to another airline in order to get to your intended destination.
Please note that this benefit only applies if the Plan has been purchased within 20 days of the date your initial deposit/payment for your Trip is received.
